  • Abstract
Dimethyl ether (DME) is a promising and excellent alternative fuel for compression ignition DI diesel engines. In addition to the significant merit of no soot emission, DME would be of better ignition quality, lower auto ignition temperature and better atomization compared to diesel. The paper presents models and simulates fuel injection system of DME engine. The dynamic simulation and analysis of the whole system are processed and the comparison of the injection characteristics of DME and diesel are obtained. After improving the fuel injection system, the simulation results of fuel supply system for diesel engine combusting DME are gained. The simulation method and results provide effective tools for study of injection system of DME engine.
