Abstract :
A database is developed which accepts cardiac catheterization results directly from the physician and generates a report in natural English. A relational version of this system failed because of the sparse and multi-valued nature of the data. The current database owes its success to a hierarchical organization which facilitates efficient disk use as well as the robust generation of natural language reports
