Abstract :
Cotton stalk has the great potential of degradable biomaterials. Therefore, GC/MS was used to analyze the components of the volatiles from cotton stalk to review environment-friendliness. Relative content of each component was determined by area normalization. The main and abundant constituents were mandelamide(24.04%), 1,4,7,10,13,16-hexaoxanonadecane, 18-propyl-(6.27%), 2,4,7(1H,3H,8H)-pteridinetrione(5.58%), cyclohexyl-15-crown-5(4.99%),.alpha.-tocopherol-.beta.-D-mannoside(4.03%), phytol(3.7%), 4-((1E)-3-hydroxy-1-propenyl)-2-methoxyphenol(3.06%), benzenecarboxylic acid(2.96%), 1-naphthalenamine, N-phenyl-(2.88%), 2H-1,2-oxazine, tetrahydro-2-methy l-6-(3-pyridi nyl)-, N-oxide(2.72%), 3,4-altrosan(2.62%), 2-propenoic acid, trimethylsilyl ester(2.38%), phenol, 2,3,5,6-tetramethyl-(2.29%), 1,4-dioxane-2,6-dimethanol(2.25%), heptaethylene glycol monododecyl ether(2.14%), 1H-imidazole, 2-ethyl-4,5-dihydro-(2.04%), toluene(1.91%), benzeneacetic acid, 4-hydroxy-3-me thoxy-(1.91%), phenol,2-butoxy-6-[(dimethylamino)methyl]- (1.8%), 1-(1-hydroxybutyl)-2,5-dimethoxybe nzene(1.61%), benzene,1,1´-[oxybis(methylene)]bis[4-ethyl-(1.49%), etc. Most of the volatiles could be used as biomedicine. But some of the volatiles was toxic. And this meant that cotton stalk need be pretreatment.
