Abstract :
In this paper, acoustic performance of a complicated resistance muffler has been studied. A numerical model is established to reveal the filtering mechanism of the complicated muffler with the acoustic performance. Simulated result is compared with actual experiment signals to verify the validation of the model. The filter model is concern with the structure of the muffler. The filtering relation can be used to explore for complicated muffler study and design by the signals measured through a substitute pipe fixed on the diesel engine outlet.
