Abstract :
We applied the dead beat control method to the head position control of a hard disk drive. In the paper the effectiveness of the control method is demonstrated by numerical simulations and experiments. It is shown that adaptive control scheme is necessary to cope with the fluctuation of the system constant. An actual adaptive control method is proposed and its effectiveness is shown by an experiment
