Abstract :
Analysis of step-stress accelerated ageing tests have been performed on new cross-linked polyethylene. XLPE, and ethylene propylene rubber, EPR cables. Conversion back to a single cumulative distribution function allows a better model to be utilized in examining product performance. Additionally, the ranking of the step-stress tests is maintained. Inspection of the failure sites shows performance differences between the XLPE and EPR cables. The differences might be due to the voltage acceleration
