Abstract :
This paper reports the behavior of single droplets on horizontally arranged polymeric surfaces under the influence of an applied electrical ac field. In the experimental investigations the number of droplets, the volume conductivity of the test liquid and the surface roughness were varied. During the experiments the droplets deformed, moved and split. Partial discharges between the droplets occured and were also observed. The influence of the varied parameters is presented in detail in this paper
