Abstract :
Simulation models were developed to study the feasibility of coal gasification combined with carbon dioxide reuse system to produce liquid fuels and electricity. Two schemes for carbon dioxide reuse system were designed and analyzed: Boudouard reaction coupled with Fisher-Tropsch synthesis and carbon dioxide reforming of methane coupled with Fisher- Tropsch Synthesis. The ASF model describing FT products distribution, the progressive conversion model for Boudouard reaction and a kinetic model with Ni/La2O3 as catalyst for carbon dioxide reforming of methane were integrated within ASPEN code by FORTRAN routines. The simulation results show that the carbon dioxide reuse to produce liquid fuels and chemicals is technically feasible.
