Abstract :
Based on the characteristic function and discrete Fourier transform (DFT) method, the error probability of an MQAM mobile communication system in the presence of frequency-selective Rayleigh fading, co-channel interference (CCI) and Doppler frequency spread is derived. This proposed approach provides an accuracy equivalent to the Monte-Carlo simulation technique with much lower computational complexity and time. Numerical results for an illustrative example of a 16 QAM system are given. The effects of Doppler spread, CCI and frequency-selective fading on the system performance are examined
