  • Abstract
The treatment of sewage is essential for ensuring the effluent achieving the discharge standard of water pollutants and improving the quality of water. So each year, the national and regional governments invest heavily in establishing sewage treatment factories. In order to help governors and managers analyzing investment effects and operation conditions, a Visual Analysis System for Sewage Treatment Data (VAS-STD) was presented in this paper. VAS-STD can provide the functions of classifying sewage treatment data, analyzing the investment effect and operation condition of sewage treatment plant, discovering existing problems through data mining, and finding the future direction of investment. VAS-STD is based on B/S architecture, apply Weka as its data mining tool, and apply time series diagram and Web-GIS technology to visualize the analyzing results. A data mining algorithm based on artificial neural network for sewage treatment data is also proposed. VAS-STD has been used to analysis more than 4000 sewage treatment plants data to provide important basis for decision-makers and managers.
