Abstract
As more and more enterprise applications are running in distributed computer networks, the loss of revenue due to down time or poor performance of the applications is increasing exponentially. This has created the need for diligent management of distributed applications. Management of distributed applications involves accurate monitoring of end-user service level agreements, and mapping them to the application level, system level, and network level parameters. A statistical analysis has been provided on mapping application level response time to network related parameters such as link bandwidth and router throughput by using some simple queueing models.
