Abstract :
Faced with increasing complex networks and the phenomenon of worldwide shortage of skilled provisioning engineers, a more powerful provisioning software is the only hope for telcos to have performance with cutting edge service delivery times and network utilization. If telcos are to shorten their return on investment period, a new approach to operational support system is required. A web engineering framework with agent has been proposed to develop a new provisioning system. Web based systems deliver a complex content and functionality in heterogeneous environment. An evolutional development process of web based provisioning system is expressed. Under current circumstance, interoperability is an inevitable approach in a new generational provisioning system development. An agent technology has been proposed to construct an interoperable provisioning system, and gives a case study of fixed-mobile convergence provisioning. As a result, the usefulness of these approaches could be verified not only for telecommunication provisioning system support but also for Internet applications.
