Abstract :
STANAG 3910 incorporates the MIL-STD-1553B protocol for system control and provides the high data rates that are not possible with MIL-STD-1553B. The authors describe the methods used by STANAG 3910 to obtain the high data rates while still maintaining the system control and data transmission protocol used by MIL-STD-1553B. Particular attention is directed toward the interaction of the low-speed and high-speed channels allowing MIL-STD-1553B compatibility. The use of fiber optics is also discussed
