Abstract :
A simulation model is developed to study the performance of SAFENET (Survivable Adaptive Fiber-Optic Embedded Network) II with varying values of target token rotation time (TTRT). The selection of an optimized TTRT for a particular mission is of paramount importance in the operation of SAFENET II. The performance of the ring was analyzed when the stations were allocated synchronous bandwidth to match their requirement and further fine-tuned to achieve real-time performance. The suggested mechanism over SAFENET can successfully deliver real-time synchronous packets within strict delay constraints
