Abstract :
The paper presents new results concerning formalisation and optimisation of the intelligent monitoring systems design. The attention is focused on the development of conceptual and mathematical frameworks, based on optimal synthesis theory adapted to the specifics of IMS design. This theory is an efficient and widely used tool of analytical support in radio-technique systems design. The results of the theory create a possibility for optimisation of decomposition of the initial design task into the smaller, mutually connected task specifications for engineering design of the system main components. Relations between the statistical synthesis and (sub-) optimal decomposition of the IMS project are analysed. The proposed approach can be used for improvement of the existing software environment employed as a tool of IMS virtual analysis and verification
