Abstract
In this paper, the inhomogeneous heat conduction equation with super-Gaussian heat source and inhomogeneous boundary condition for a diode end-pumped laser crystal have been solved analytically. The thermal lense effect and the overall phase shift then have been derived. We showed that with paraxial ray approximation, the temperature distribution and the lense effects will be a function of r2.
