Abstract
The inverse scattering problem of determining the material properties such as the profile of permittivity for a dielectric object is treated. The previous two-dimensional analysis using an iterative technique is difficult and is extremely sensitive to the initial values used. An alternative procedure based on a Fredholm integral equation is presented and solved using the method of moments. The numerical simulation results verified the advantages of high accuracy, good stability, and relative simplicity of the method.<>
