Abstract :
This paper shares preliminary results from a study that seeks to identify investment criteria for new technology based ventures in the information technology industry. The authors´ main concern is for innovation that occurs when return on efforts in terms of dollars is low given the amount of time expended on the venture. They argue that a technology innovation matches closely with the Hamel and Prahalad´s third form of an innovative product concept, namely, delivering a new functionality through an entirely new product concept
