  • Abstract
In order to master the effect of work roll wear for variable crown mill on strip profile control, a finite element model was built, and the strip profile control characteristics of different wear contour types and different wear contour extents were analyzed. The research shows that the work roll wear would increase the strip edge drop, and then increase the quadric crown, destroy the linear crown control characteristic of variable crown work roll. The dissymmetrical wear based on the box wear contour brings a little influence on the quadric crown control area. The “cat ear“ wear contour may worsen the strip profile contour, and brings a bad influence on crown control.
