Abstract :
Summary form only given. The paper explores the conditions defining the permanence of researchers in the Air Force Department, concentrated at the Department of Research and Development (DEPED), and working mainly at the research institutes of the Aeroespace Technical Center (CTA). This analysis aims to contribute to the literature in order to, according to Medeiros, “find the link that binds the man to the meaning of his life, where his work is inserted”. From an academic point of view, we intend to clarify discrepancies between the theory of organizational behavior, proposing better conditions of work to maintain the staff, and the real situation of researchers working at CTA, who remain with the organization in spite of adverse conditions. It is of the utmost importance to clarify the phenomenon occurring with this population. The determination of the reasons by which individuals remain with their organizations will expand the knowledge in this field of studies and will allow a better evaluation of the individual-work relationship, indicating routes for future actions, both in the academic and in the business environment
