This document points out the urgent need for solutions of the civilian demining problem and suggest action plans for enhancing the demining efficiency. The number of mines hidden throughout the world is discussed. Demining methods are outlined along with the cost. Political activity in this area is discussed with reference to humanitarian and environmental aspects, research aspects, and industrial aspects
