Abstract :
A technique for improving the radiation characteristics of a resonant cylindrical dielectric cavity antenna by using a circular conducting ring is proposed. The ring is assumed to be residing on the top surface of the dielectric material. The effect of the thickness and diameter of the ring on the E- and H-plane radiation patterns as well as the cross-polarized field of the dielectric cavity antennas of various geometrical dimensions and dielectric constants are presented.<>
