A Message Filtering System in Pervasive Computing

Pervasive computing is the next generation computing environment with information and communication technology everywhere, for everyone, at all times. The security of pervasive devices is beginning to catch wide attention. In this paper, we present an automatic spam filtering system for messages on the portable devices. The system is based on the pattern-discovery and pattern-detection method and uses Teiresias by Rigoutsos, I. and Floratos, A. (1998) as its underlying tool to find the patterns from the spam messages automatically. In the system we use an effective pattern matching algorithm to enhance the system´s performance. Finally we show the experimental results of the system and point out the directions for future work
