Abstract :
Live-work is a significant form of mixed-use habitation in Southeast China, and in distributed periods it had related paradigms. With the comparison of western and Chinese practice, this thesis explains the essential motivations influencing the process of mixed-use development, and based on analysis and evaluation on main archetypes, regional mixed-use dimensions are given to work-live paradigms. Finally it offers the strategies of index ordinance, live-work synergy and motivation balance as the approaches to mixed-use development.
