Abstract :
Photocatalytic activities of the mixture of TiO2 and NaZSM-5 as well as TiO2-NaZSM-5 composite photocatalyst prepared using solid state dispersion method were investigated. Photocatalytic oxidation of methyl orange on commercial TiO2 nano-particles could be successfully enhanced by simple mechanical mixing with NaZSM-5 zeolite. When a mixture of TiO2 and NaZSM-5 (TiO2:NaZSM-5 ratio=1:10) was added into the solution, methyl orange removal rate was 48.9% after 30 min of irradiation, which increased 10.6% compared with using TiO2 alone. However, photocatalytic activity of TiO2-NaZSM-5 composite photocatalyst with TiO2:NaZSM-5 ratio from 10:1 to 1:30 prepared by solid state dispersion method decreased obviously.
