Abstract :
One of the main disadvantages of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) is peak to average power ratio (PAPR) problem. The adaptive symbol selection scheme (ASSS) can be used to reduce the PAPR for OFDM signals. However, ASSS requires sending side information with data information that decreases the transmitted data rate or increases the complexity of the system. In this paper, we propose a technique that transmits the side information by using the pilot tones which are used for channel estimation. By using the proposed technique in iterative channel estimation and signal detection for the clipped OFDM, the transmitted data rate is not reduced and the reasonable error performance can be obtained.
