Abstract :
A study was performed to assess realistic ventriculo-atrial (VA) interval boundaries for classification of arrhythmias with 1:1 atrial retrograde conduction. Separation of ventricular tachycardia with retrograde from atrioventricular reentrant tachycardia with retrograde can be effected by imposing distinct VA interval boundaries to give 100% classification. These findings could be of importance in algorithms for next-generation implantable cardioverter defibrillators which include two-chamber (atrial and ventricular) sensing and two-chamber interval measurements
