Abstract :
In this paper, a complex sign Doppler estimator (CSDE) is proposed for FPGA-based real-time synthetic aperture radar (SAR) Doppler center frequency estimation. This CSDE reduces the complexity in Doppler center frequency estimation by exploiting the statistical properties of SAR data and applying the complex arcsine law to the correlation coefficient calculation. Simulation results show that with this CSDE, much less computational loads and implementation area can be achieved compared with existing estimators while maintaining comparable performance.
