Contributions of Green Olympics to ecological environmental improvement in Beijing

This paper analyzes the measures and policies of improving air quality, strengthening sewage treatment, increasing urban green space, optimizing Olympic venue construction and raising public awareness during the whole process of Olympic bid, preparation and hosting, conducted by Beijing Municipal Government and Beijing Organizing Committee with the idea of “Green Olympics”. And this paper also presents the achievements of ecological environment protection and discusses the significance and influence of “Green Olympics”. The writers think that the construction mode of “Green Olympics” is a sustainable one, considered as a practical example to other areas and countries. Green Olympics makes great contributions to urban cultural civilization and ecological environment.
