Abstract :
This article concerns with the implementation of a computational framework for numerical simulations of the kinetics of reactions induced by radiation via water radiolysis in iron salts and the comparison with experimental results which allowed the study of the effect of low temperatures in such contexts. A clear dependence of the absorbed dose with the temperature was observed for the iron salt, in particular at liquid nitrogen temperature. This model has a temperature-dependent source term that is a linear function of the radiation dose intensity. Finally, the agreement of the theoretical predictions with the experimental results suggests that the model is reliable for predicting the behavior of the frozen solutions not addressed experimentally in this paper for dose evaluations. These features make it attractive for application to different samples and circumstances.
