Abstract
Though switched reluctance motor (SRM) has some excellent advantages, the acoustic noise, induced by the stator vibration, is one of the major drawbacks for the SRM. So how to reduce the vibration and acoustic noise in the SRM is the key problem at present .Several studies have showed that the main vibration and acoustic noise is saliently related to the configuration, geometry and stator pole shapes of the SRM. A new design for noise reduction is then presented in this paper, based on the analysis on the main noise source in SRM. The new reduction design concerns a SRM with a new stator pole shape. Using this new method, simulations supported by Ansys(a finite element analysis software in magnetic field)shows that the vibration and acoustic noise ,compared with the old method, can be reduced dramatically.
