Abstract :
Circuit breakers have a very important role in generation and transmission of electricity and represent a vital part of the power system. Monitoring the high voltage circuit breakers represent an important challenge when this activity must be acquired online. The paper presents the architecture of an online monitoring and diagnosis system of electrical equipment which has the role to acquire, to transfer and to process information about the monitored equipment. Also, the paper describe the LabVIEW software application used for processing and analyzing the data acquired by the monitoring system which enable visualization of the monitored parameter waveforms, generate the alarms and reports etc. An advanced digital signal processing software component expressed by wavelet algorithms for denoising and detrending was designed and implemented in order to extract information such as the travel of mobile contacts, the velocity of mobile contacts, main currents on each phase etc.
