Abstract :
A group decision support system should ideally be tailored to the needs of the group on a continuous basis. Since most groups are formed and disbanded frequently, it is usually not feasible to create a group decision support system tailored to meet the specific needs of each group unless there already exists an infrastructure within the organization´s computer system to do so. The authors propose such an infrastructure, namely a networked knowledge-based system that can be dynamically configured and reconfigured. The proposed framework allows group members to exchange data and information outside of meetings, resulting in more productive meetings. It can also minimize the necessity for interaction between group members outside of meetings, thus allowing them to utilize their time better
