Abstract
The rainfall events were monitored continuously from 2007 to 2008 to investigate the characteristics of urban road runoff pollution in Handan. The results show that the road runoff is polluted to various extents. The runoff pollution of urban trunk road is the most seriously in the main road catchments. It is also affirmed that the flush regularity of urban road runoff pollutant has general significance, which could be described with exponential function. Furthermore, it is showed a very good linear relationship among the main runoff pollutants. Based on the characteristics, some applicable techniques are put forward for road runoff pollution control.
