  • Abstract
This paper presents simulation results of coverage fluctuation caused by moving rain-cell over the service area of future broadband fixed wireless access (BFWA) network applying two types of novelty compared to the common terrestrial BFWA. Because of easy reconflgurability of the network we propose to use satellite backbone concept to feed the base stations of the BFWA system. The second novel aspect in our paper is the application of adaptive base station transmit power allocation as an efficient method against rain fading. To demonstrate the achieved performance of the proposed satellite fed BFWA applying adaptive power allocation comparative results with terrestrial BFWA systems without power adaptation will be introduced.
