Abstract :
Summary form only given. In 1990, a specialization education program on management of technology was held for first time following a feasibility study for the Southeast of Mexico and especially the Yucatan Peninsula. This region has less than three million inhabitants and is one of the less industrialized in Mexico. The objective of this paper is to present the history of this program, analyze its development clarifying main outputs, major problems and finally draw lines of action for the near future. An historical presentation is done through this work, starting with the first generation of specialist, the periodical assessment of the curricula and the following modifications. At the end, a summary of the activities and achievements is presented covering three areas: education; research; and collaborative programs in relation to management of technology
