This paper refers to a study on the literature available on concurrent engineering (CE) (considered as a work methodology, strategically utilized on the process of product development by enterprises willing to stay or become competitive), and analyzes results from the survey carried out to verify its main concepts, the methodology utilized, convergence points regarding to motivation, barriers faced, direct and indirect benefits accrued from the implantation of this methodology
