Abstract
The authors describe a laboratory station for testing real-time control algorithms. These algorithms were designed for generator excitation and stabilizer control and were implemented on an IBM PS/2 used as a digital controller. The central philosophy of the station design is presented. Its ability to accommodate any digital controller is emphasized. The station features, such as switching between different controllers in real time, are discussed. The graphics capabilities that allow the user to compare fully the responses of the various adaptive controllers are described
