Abstract
The authors use a personal computer combined with a general-purpose data acquisition board and LabVIEW environment to develop techniques for acquiring physiological signals which include HR, BP (systolic pressure, mean pressure and diastolic pressure) and pulse signals from Finapres. These acquired signals can then be recorded, stored and analyzed simultaneously in real time. The techniques presented in this paper include the removal of servo components from the pulse signals of Finapres, and the reduction of respiratory effect in pulse signals using a Wiener filter. These techniques can afford valuable information to understand central autonomic regulatory mechanisms by clinical experiments
