  • Abstract
An integrated approach for interoperation between heterogeneous bus networks in city bus control system is proposed to increase the interoperability and the degree of information integration of the system. As the demand and complexity of the city bus control system has increased, communication protocols as LIN and CAN (high-speed and low-speed) and have been applied, resulting in several heterogeneous bus networks coexisting. Therefore, a protocol conversion gateway between CAN and LIN to implement node-to-node communication, a bridge between high-speed CAN and low-speed CAN was proposed with communication model and design scheme. Driving test of the city bus has shown the high real-time performance and reliability of the solutions.
