Abstract :
The fine blanking process with stepped-edge punch was analyzed by finite element method for different curvature parts. Distributions of hydrostatic stress on deformation zone were obtained for different curvature parts. An experiment device has been designed and made for one automobile part by fine blank process with stepped-edge punch. The reasonable forming parameters were adjusted according to experimental and numerical investigations. Parts of two kinds of materials, Q235 steel, copper and industrial aluminum, were formed using fine blanking process with stepped-edge punch. The thickness of fined parts is 8 mm and their sections are all of full burnish zone.
