Abstract :
A head of wild boar was taken as the bionic research object for the new type of plough, a ridging plough. The reverse engineering technology was adopted to obtain the surface geometrical information of the head. This geometrical information is the essential parameter for biomimetics study of the ridging plough. The ridge line of head of the wild boar was adopted for designing middle line, and the biomimetic ridger tine curve was designed with special curve line which is acquired by the plane XY intersection with the model. A comparison was made between the biomimetic and traditional ridging plough in sticky soil. The trolley was at five different forward speeds. The percent reduction in ploughing resistance of biomimetic ridging plough is 7-14%.
