Abstract :
Based on the survey of 23 governmental and large public buildings in Wuhan in 2007, the 4 type public buildings of governmental office buildings, highrise office towers, department stores and hotels are studied first of their energy consumption and their structure characteristics. Then, the cause of those results is analyzed briefly from building use, energy-use equipment, climates, building tectonics and others. Finally the cause of excessive energy consumption of the 4 building types are examined in terms of air-condition that makes up a substantial share of the yearly overall consumption, and relevant energy saving strategies are proposed correspondingly.
