Abstract :
Modification of a well-known pulsed power generator of 10 MG range reproducible magnetic fields, i.e. the cascade magnetocumulative generator MC-1, intended for research in plasma physics with high densities of electromagnetic energy is described. A thin-walled plasma chamber from a stainless steel is installed in a two-cascade generator MC-1, and earlier developed technique for magnetic field pulse shortening is implemented here. Results of experimental testing of the generator´s main parameters in absence of plasma in chamber are given and discussed.
