Abstract
A method is described for obtaining static images from an induced current electrical impedance tomography system using a ring of resistors around the region of interest to provide a reference. Computer simulation of the impedance imaging system enables the difference between this resistor ring reference and that of a uniform region to be calculated, and applied to measured data. Static images obtained in this way are presented, and shown to be comparable in quality to those produced by using a uniform distribution as a reference
