Abstract :
An analysis is presented for a horizontal electric dipole embedded in a microstrip substrate. It can be generalized to other kinds of dipoles and cases of multilayered media. The improved exact image theory gives simple expressions which are suitable for both the near region and far region. The agreement between the results calculated by these expressions and those calculated by numerical integration shows the validity of the improved exact image theory.<>
