Title :
WIP allocation planning for semiconductor factories
Abstract :
Long-range planning is vital for semiconductor factories. An innovative work-in-progress (WIP) allocation planning method and a new tool, called the cumulative processed lot graph, which facilitates the implementation of this method are proposed. In the semiconductor industry, the manufacturing lead time is long and the manufacturing process often needs to be started without fixed orders. Appropriate WIP (inventory) planning can effectively balance production for fixed orders with that for projected demand
