Abstract :
It is shown that the radiation of a dipole array above a conducting ground plane is affected by the presence of cut-off waveguide backed apertures in the ground plane. Radiation patterns that have been computed for large apertures show the influence of the fields at the apertures, and provide insights for the design of housings for integrated antenna elements in a substrate supported configuration.
