  • Abstract
The lifting winch drum usually bearing a relatively large load and there will be many irrational design problems, when the key coupling is used. For example, the strength of key coupling between the drum shaft and drum body can´t meet the strength requirement. The expansion bushing, a type of non-key coupling connection, is introduced to solve these problems. The parameter performances of five common types of expansion bushing are studied firstly and the most optimal type of expansion bushing for lifting winch drum, Z2, is obtained by fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method. Then, an example of the Z2 type expansion bushing connections applied in lifting winch drum is analyzed. The results of mechanical parameters analysis and design calculation under practical applications show that the method of using expansion bushing connection in lifting winch drum can meets engineering requirements well.
