Abstract :
Advancing is basic function of CGA (Computer Generated Actors) and the basis for CGA to perform tasks. Team CGA must maintain a particular formation according to task requirement in advancing process. In this paper, based on Leader-Following method, a formation maintaining method based on the formation decomposition is presented. By the formation decomposition, the complicated formation maintenances are divided into simple horizontal and vertical formation maintenances, so that the difficulty of maintaining formations is lowered and the efficiency of maintaining formations is improved. Simulating results shows that this method is effective.
